DAY 01: HANOI ARRIVAL
Arriving in Hanoi, you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore the tree-lined boulevards, French Indochinese architecture and tranquil lakes of this unique city. Overnight in Hanoi.
DAY 02: HANOI – HALONG BAY (B)
This morning, a city tour introduces you to the historical and cultural highlights of Hanoi. Visit Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and his former residence on stilts, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature as well as Quan Thanh Temple and Tran Quoc Temple around West Lake.
Afternoon, travel by air-conditioned bus through the Red River Delta to beautiful Ha Long Bay. The scenic drive will pass through some of the rural landscape before arriving in the afternoon to the World Heritage site of Ha Long Bay. A Bay with more than 3000 islands, which time, wind and waves have sculptured into fantastic shapes.
Overnight in hotel.
DAY 03: HALONG BAY – HANOI (B)
Today you will have about 5 hours cruise to explore the mystery and beauty of Ha Long Bay. Return to Hanoi following lunch of freshly caught seafood served on board. Visit Dong Trieu pottery village on the way to Hanoi.
DAY 04: HANOI – HUE (Flight) (B)
Transfer to the airport for flight to Hue. Upon arrival Hue, Lunch at local restaurant. Sightseeing in Hue, visit the Mausoleum of Tu Duc, which was originally built as a palace retreat before becoming the Nguyen emperors’ final resting place. End the day at Khai Dinh’s Tomb which boasts a traditional Vietnamese design with a European touch, making it unique from the other tombs in Hue. HANOI
DAY 05: HUE – DANANG – HOI AN (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Take a dragon boat on Huong river, passing Dong Ba market to Thien Mu Pagoda then visit the ruins of the royal residence at the Imperial Citadel. Lunch at local restaurant.
In the afternoon depart Hue for Hoi An via Hai Van Pass for whole view of Pacific Ocean and famous Lang Co fishing village, on the way to Hoi An you will visit Cham Museum in Danang city where the remaining evidence of the Champa civilization can be viewed crossing Hai Van Pass (Pass of the Ocean Clouds, enjoying spectacular views of sky and sea. Visit the Cham Museum in Danang and proceed to Hoi An. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
DAY 06: HOI AN – DANANG – HO CHI MINH CITY (Flight) (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Half day city tour to discover the historic town which used to be a prosperous seaport city during the 16th to 18th centuries. Visit Hoi An market, Tan Ky old house, the Japanese Covered Bridge and the Fukien Assembly Hall. Lunch.
Transfer to Danang airport for an evening flight to Ho Chi Minh city (also called Saigon). Dinner and accommodation at hotel. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh city.
DAY 7: HO CHI MINH CITY – MY THO, BEN TRE – CANTHO (B)
8h00am, we depart from Ho Chi Minh City to My Tho city (Mekong Delta).
A smooth one and half hour bus ride passing the green rice fields, leads you to the beautiful rural My Tho city. The morning trip continues on the motorized boat on the Tien River.
Visit fisherman’s wharf and see 4 islands: Dragon, Unicorn, Turtle, Phoenix. Stop at Thoi Son island (Unicorn) to taste tropical fruit while you are listening to the sound of “Southern Vietnamese folk music” performed by the islanders. Visit an orchid garden.
Visit a coconut candy workshop, a famous specialty of Ben Tre province. Transfer to Ben Tre by boat. Take a short walk on village roads to explore the daily life of local people.
Then visit a family size honey bee farm and enjoy honey tea. You’ll take a rowing boat trip on Vam Chua arroyo. Visit a rice paper production workshop and back to My Tho pier.
Lunch time. Drive to Can Tho city for overnight.
DAY 8: CAN THO – HO CHI MINH CITY (B)
Breakfast at the hotel. Early morning boat trip to visit Cai Rang floating market. Afterwards visit a fruit orchard and taste the tropical fruits of the Mekong Delta. Return to Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon (4 hours). Overnight in Ho Chi Minh city.
DAY 9: HO CHI MINH CITY – CU CHI TUNNELS (B)
Breakfast at the hotel, drive to Cu Chi (75 km northwest of Ho Chi Minh City) to visit an amazing complex of underground tunnels the former stronghold of Viet Cong with a network of tunnels three levels deep stretching over 200km. Return Ho Chi Minh City. Lunch at local restaurant.
Afternoon, visit Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post Office and Reunification Palace and Ben Thanh market. Accommodation at hotel.
DAY 10: SAIGON DEPARTURE (B)
The day is at your leisure for last minute sight-seeing or shopping until your transfer to Tan Son Nhat Airport for your onward flight.
